The Power Plant
The enterprise operates at run-of-river and has 5 generating units of 180.5 MW and an installed capacity to generate 902.5 MW, which makes it possible to generate approximately 4,600,000 megawatt-hours per year, depending on the average availability of water in the Tocantins River. With the start of operations in 2001, the Plant promoted the energy independence of Tocantins and transformed the State from an importer to an exporter of electricity.
